The Trinity Trojans 2005-06 Ice Hockey squad will open up their exhibition season with a contest at Kent State University against the Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders. The puck drops for the contest at 7:00pm.
The Trojans, coming off of a season in which they captured the Red Southwest crown of the Greater Cleveland High School league , return 12 seniors as they move to the newly created Red East division of the league. Seniors Mike Kasmer, Rich Tropf and Dan Lambert lead the Trojan scoring attack. Kasmer and Tropf are three year lettermen, while Lambert has garnered two letters in his high school career. Tropf, returns to the ice following an outstanding football season as a wide receiver and cornerback for the Trojans. Additionally, Kurt Becka, Mark Ferfolia Jr, and Tony Geraci will be senior forwards for Trinity
Senior defensemen Shaun Schmitt , Mike Stout , Jeff Danczak, Dan Burke and Kyle Konczos lead the blueline corps for the blue and white. Schmitt returns to the ice after suffering a season-ending injury in December of last year, breaking his leg against the Strongsville Mustangs. The other defensemen were all regulars as Trinity led the entire Red division in goals given up per game, surrendering only 1.5 per game.
Senior Ryan Duale will once again be manning the nets for the Trinity icers.
