Fresh off of a solid performance in their opening pre-season contest, the Trinity Trojan icers travel to Meadville, Pa., for their second pre-season contest on Saturday afternoon. The contest, at the Meadville area recreation center is slated for a 4:25pm opening face-off.
On Thursday night, Trinity jumped out to a 3-0 lead , out shooting the Kent Roosevelt Roughriders 30-9 in the first two period en route to a 4-2 win. Trinity had the opportunity to skate 22 players in the preseason game.
Saturday, in the form of the Meadville bulldogs, the Trojans will face one of the top high school teams in the state of Pennsylvania. The Bulldogs, led by head coach Jamie Plunkett, are a perennial contender for the Keystone state High School hockey crown, and this year's edition should be a fine one. Last year, Meadville skated an underclassmen dominated squad, and had a solid season. Returning the majority of their team, the bulldogs are once again one of the favorites for the state championship.
Following the contest, Trinity will face the North Olmsted Eagles, a former Red Southwest Division rival, in their final exhibition game of the pre-season on Sunday November 21st in a 3:30pm tilt at the North Olmsted Recreation complex.
